This Blog Post applies to Patient’s with Widex Hearing aids
(if you have a different brand of hearing aids- ie. Signia, Resound, Starkey, Phonak, Unitron, Oticon, etc instructions may differ)

We all love technology but we also know sometimes it can be temperamental! If your phone does a software update, you get a new phone, or your phone just goes on the fritz then these can be situations where you may lose your connection or pairing to your hearing aids for Bluetooth and the Widex Moment or Allure app. Your hearing aids will be named Moment or Allure and this determines which app you will use. We will provide step by step instructions below on how to pair everything should this happen.
Pairing to Bluetooth with iPhone
- Open the Bluetooth menu on your phone which is often found in the Settings menu. Turn on Bluetooth if it is not already on.
- Turn your hearing aids off and back on again. For disposable batteries just open and close your battery doors. For rechargeable batteries place your hearing aids in the charger for a moment and then take them back out of the charger.
- Go to Accessibility menu on your phone under Settings.
- Go to Hearing Devices menu.
- You should see your hearing aids pop up at the top.
- Select your hearing aids and then select pair twice.
Pairing to Bluetooth with Android
- Open the Bluetooth menu on your phone which is often found in the Settings menu. Turn on Bluetooth if it is not already on.
- Turn your hearing aids off and back on again. For disposable batteries just open and close your battery doors. For rechargeable batteries place your hearing aids in the charger for a moment and then take them back out of the charger.
- You should see each hearing aid pop up under Bluetooth menu. If you do not you may need to hit scan or search at the top to find them.
- Select each hearing aid and pair.
Pairing to Widex Moment or Allure app
- Download the Widex Moment or Allure app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Once the app is installed, open it and restart your hearing aids by either opening and closing your battery doors or placing hearing aids in charger for a moment and then removing them from charger.
- Your hearing aids should connect automatically after this.
Troubleshooting Tips for iPhone
- If you have lost connection to your Bluetooth or app you may need to follow these steps first before you can re-pair everything.
- Go to Accessibility menu under Settings menu.
- Go to Hearing Devices menu.
- If you see your hearing aids listed at the top and there is a spinning icon or if your hearing aids are listed but not streaming then select the hearing aids.
- Select forget devices.
- Refer back to previous instructions on how to get re-paired again.
Troubleshooting Tips for Android
- If you have lost connection to your Bluetooth or app you may need to follow these steps first before you can re-pair everything.
- Go to Bluetooth menu on your phone which is usually in the Settings menu.
- Find your hearing aids and hit the gear icon next to them.
- Select the gear and then hit forget devices.
- You may need to forget each HA device.
- Refer back to previous instructions on how to get re-paired again.
