Description:

If you are a dedicated, caring, and upbeat individual who wants to make a difference, this may be the position for you! As the front office staff you will perform routine clerical, secretarial, and administrative work. We are looking for an employee who wishes to grow professionally with our company into an expanding role as deemed appropriate with experience. This individual will be crucial to our success, so we are looking for serious applicants who are interested in long-term employment.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the entry point for our practice
  • Works directly with Providers
  • Customer service
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Answer basic practice-related questions
  • Patient preparation – all forms and equipment ready to see the patient the next day
  • Distribute and obtain appropriate forms, including new patient information, insurance information, and HIPAA information for all patients
  • Assist professional staff as directed
  • Collect billing
  • Mail clinic reports
  • Office organization and cleanliness
  • Data-entry of orders (including hearing aids) and supplies
  • Ordering office supplies as necessary
  • Collects and records payments at check-out

 

JOB SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population
  • Must be able to organize time and multi-task
  • Must engage with patients in a caring, respectful, and confidential manner
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Financial truthfulness and responsibility

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently requires sitting, using hands, reaching and twisting
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds with or without assistance
  • Standing and walking throughout the day
  • The work environment is generally quiet, with moderate noise from phones and other business office machines

 

Experience:

  • 2-3 years clerical experience (medical preferred)
  • Experience in medical billing is also a plus
